Cayin N6ii Replaceable Audio Motherboard R01

I did buy cayin ru6 before i bought R01 board. I bought RU6 for my office use primarily (to relieve myself from charging my Mojo all the time) but i liked its sound sig. so much that i found myself using it more and more at home as well (putting aside a Bifrost 2 and a Chord Qutest) . I am not telling it is a superior product but i found myself enjoying this little dongle so much that it grow on me quickly .Then i moved on to R01 board for my N6ii (i only had A01 which i liked) . This is a gem to have really, the separation of instruments and their timbre is perfect, the drums, vocals , string section presentation is the magic potion (if you like) of this board. Soundstage is very good as well but above all the call of music is strong and engaging.. I use both RU6 and R01 to drive my new Beyerdynamic DT700 and DT900 pro x's.. And the synergy imho is very appealing.
With both of these Cayin R2R implementations ,together with a resolving, easy to drive cans you can engage yourself in a embracing musical scene.

I enjoyed my E02. But over time, I wished for a little different timbre of sound and couldn't tune it with EQ. Then I read the reviews of the R01 and was a bit skeptical. Now I have the R01 and I'm a big fan. Thank you!

The sound is more natural to my ears. The detail is revealed. I have no desire for any other DAP. The n6ii R01 will stay with me :-)

This is a comparison between the module E02 I have been listening the same musics and songs and the R01 that has huge soundstage, details, separated instruments and vocals are more forward with punchy bass (if you have a more powerful headphones or in ear monitors.

Did run my N6ii first with A01 and then E01 which impressed me a lot. Now, after all the very positive feedbacks I decided to go for the R01 and initial impession is outstanding, very reference like. Still burning in and enyoing it very much.

In that I currently own 4 Cayin Nii6 Master DAP boards (A01, E01, E02 and R01) and the Cayin C-9 Amp, I have to say the R01 ~w the ladder DAC Tech has a beautiful natural almost liquid sound .. definitely consider this board as part of your Nii6 collection, if able.
