Cayin iDAC-6 MK2 Digital to Analogue Converter
This is quite a fun DAC to own and you get stellar performance. I am on windows 10 and for my set up the cayin asio speaker output sounded much much better then the wasapi. Might need to check my wasapi settings. I am using the dac in a 2 channel home stereo system with a laptop hooked via usb.

I have the complete Cayin i-6 Series Tri -Stack ( Amp, DAC, DAP ) and it punches way above 1/2 of the other offerings out there. Pictured ~w my new Allnic HPA-3000GT tube amp and Audeze LCD-4 HP's. I highly recommend Cayin products across the board - Looking to pick up one of their tube amps soon !
Moved up from an older PS Audio DAC, and the sound quality improvement is pretty huge. For all its flexibilty, features and sound quality, I feel the IDAC-6 is a great value. Hooked it up to an iHA-6 via optical, and it sounded good. Then tried coax, and it sounded better. OK, we'll go with that. But I kept wondering if there would be an improvement with the i2s/HDMI connection-which I had never used before. So I bought a 3-ft Blue Jeans HDMI cable, and WOW, major improvement. I have no idea why, but it's not subtle! Also, I just love, love love the tube output on this thing. I leave it on all the time (except when going out to a tube amplifier). I have yet to listen to something that didn't sound better through the tube output, including good, hi res recordings. Even classical sounds better, which is never the case (for me) with a tube amp. I feel these tubes and their implementation don't mess with the basic tone, but add a nice depth/weight/roundness to the sound. They are readily available, but have to be soldered in, so I hope their stated 10,000 hour lifespan is accurate. By then I'll probably be looking to pick up the Mk3 model. Very happy with this purchase... and GREAT customer service from Music Teck!
The Cayin iDAC-6 MK2 is a fantastic DAC that I use with my Cayin iHA-6 amplifier as well as my 2.1 speaker setup. Coming from a far inferior DAC, this beast really shines in any form of listening. Every single sound that comes out of it is pristine compared to what I had before this.
The AMOLED screen on the MK2 DAC is the reason I went for it. I know there are upgraded internals, but I'm no sound engineer, so I just know that it is better than the MK1.
The DAC and the amp both came with a pair of white gloves, which is awesome.
Customer service of MusicTeck is phenomenal. Cayin hadn't finished making the user manual for the iDAC-6 MK2 when I received my unit, but Anthony took it upon himself to contact the company directly and get an *almost finished* user manual for me.
The ONLY thing that bothers me about this DAC is that there is no way to switch outputs. It will play through the Single ended out as well as the XLR out at the same time, so I either have to turn off my speaker receiver or my headphone amplifier to use the other.
