Classic 12AU7 Tube Architecture

Drawing on Cayin’s decades of vacuum-tube audio experience, the ID6 uses classic 12AU7 dual-triode tubes cascaded with MOS-FETs to create its two tube timbres, alongside a separate Solid-State timbre.

A dedicated tube viewing window puts the warm filament glow on display, bringing Cayin’s tube heritage into the ID6’s modern desktop design.

Android 14 Streaming Platform

The ID6 runs a deeply customized Android 14 system powered by the Rockchip RK3576 octa-core processor, featuring four Cortex-A72 cores running at up to 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores running at up to 2.0GHz.

The platform is designed for responsive streaming-app operation, fast library scanning, smooth multitasking, and high-resolution local playback.

Bit-Perfect High-Resolution Playback

Optimized low-level drivers and Cayin’s audio framework provide native SoC USB Audio and I²S bit-perfect transmission paths. The ID6 supports digital audio up to PCM 32-bit/768kHz and Native DSD512, helping preserve signal integrity throughout the digital chain.

Dual ES9082Q DACs in MONO Mode

Rather than sharing a single DAC between channels, the ID6 uses two ESS ES9082Q DACs operating in MONO mode, with one DAC dedicated to each channel.

This creates physically independent left and right decoding paths designed to improve channel separation, signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic range, and low-level detail resolution.

Fully Discrete Balanced Headphone Amplifier

The ID6 features a four-channel, fully balanced and fully discrete headphone amplifier topology using Nexperia audio-grade BJT devices for current amplification and drive.

Listeners can select between Class A and Class AB operation, while a DC-Servo circuit helps control DC offset. Balanced headphone output reaches up to an impressive 4.0W + 4.0W into 16Ω.

XMOS XU316 USB Audio

A 16-core XMOS XU316 processor handles USB audio and supports both UAC2.0 and UAC1.0 for broad compatibility with Windows, macOS, Android, Linux, and other mainstream systems.

Asynchronous transfer and precision clock re-clocking are used to help suppress digital jitter and source-related noise.

Flexible Storage & Networking

Access your music from streaming services, network libraries, USB storage, or an internally installed SSD. The ID6 supports dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet, Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth, USB flash drives, external hard drives, card readers, and a dedicated M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD bay.

Independent Digital & Analog Power Supplies

A toroidal transformer anchors the ID6’s linear power architecture, with separate power-supply sections for the digital and analog circuitry.

DC-DC regulation, low-noise linear regulators, and polymer molybdenum filter capacitors are used to suppress ripple and circuit noise.

6-Inch FHD+ Touch Display

The front panel features a 6-inch 1080 × 2160 FHD+ touchscreen with a custom landscape interface and multi-touch operation.

Dynamic spectrum visualization and a real-time VU-meter provide an engaging visual experience, while an illuminated ring surrounding the volume control provides a clear visual indication of track format.

Cayin Control App

The ID6 works with the Cayin Control App for convenient timbre switching, playback configuration, and device management. App functionality will continue to expand through future firmware updates.

Connectivity & System Integration

The ID6 is designed to serve as the central hub of a desktop or full-size audio system. In addition to headphone playback, it can operate as a DAC, line-level source, or volume-controlled preamplifier.
