10 Armature Anole
As expected, qdc launched new flagship, positioned the Anole series. X stands for 10, that is 10 drivers design. VX is a kind of nerve agent with more toxic than Sarin in military, one of the deadliest chemical weapons. So you should have more preparation before audition, as it is a “toxic” earplug.
Different from the previous Anole, VX has 3 tuning switches, switch 1,2, and 3 are low, medium and high frequency respectively, which can be adjusted alone, and playing method jumps from 4 tuning to 8 tuning.
qdc monitor also offers optional customized appearance, personalized design patterns, characters, color can also be customized for external faceplate.
Note: Anole VX standard model only has one option.
qdc monitors have been adjusted by several top sound engineers and famous musicians in music section, with the features of wide frequency response, small stain, abundant sound detail, crisp and clear quality, accurate sound field positioning without losing the sense of encirclement, high resolution middle-high frequency, but not too much modification, innate excellent transient response for balanced armature, attaching equal importance to designing both quantum sense and descending, and more excellent middle frequency density than moving coil, thoroughly explain the rich emotion of music.
Came back to report on the QDC Anole VX, it's my end game.
The unboxing experience is something I loved so much I stopped midway, brew myself a nice White Chocolate Mocha to enjoy with the rest of the unboxing.
Clarity, Separation, Imaging, sub-bass, bass, mids, presence, treble all S tier. No sibilance, no harshness, all buttery smooth.
Soundstage? better than any headphones I have and tried.
BA timbre? I didn't feel that at all.
Fit, is S tier as well. I've never experienced something so easy to put in and for it to perfectly stay there and fill all the cavities as if it was a custom. Literally weightless to the point of feeling weird. The tip it comes with is perfect as well, never felt like falling out and whenever I try to take them out, is like they are sucking my ears.
Cable: welp, that's my only thing, I prefer balanced. The ones that it comes with are super nice and all, but 3.5. so I got the atlas from tripowin with QDC connectors and a 4.4 pentacon until my wallet allows me to buy a cable from VikingWeaveCables. Super nice cable with all the latest LITZ tech and nice trenzs.
10/10 would rec no questions asked.
And to top it all off, I bought it from Musicteck.
Andrew is FUCKING AMAZING. The day after I ordered and he sent them, He wrote me and said and I quote, cuz I can't make this shit up;
Thanks for ordering qdc VX (Like New) from MusicTeck! We sold the like-new one, and we sent you a pair of new VX instead.
Truly Summit gear and equally good customer service.
This is my first time shopping at MusicTeck and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Andrew was extremely friendly and very fast at replying emails. Thanks again Andrew for accommodating to my needs.
On to the Anole VX. It's the most resolving IEM I have heard and it triumphs the U12t in terms of pure resolution. Fit is also superb with great noise isolation. The stock cable is by far the best I've used and it's not even close. Overall, the VX has a complete package with pretty much everything you could ask for from a reference monitor. Highly recommended!
IEM doesn't work without DAP, and I always look for IEMs whenever I change my DAP. I'm currently using N8 BB which has fairly thick sounds. Therefore, some IEMs sounds too heavy with N8 BB.
QDC VX-S is one of the best solution to play with N8 BB. It gives me a well balanced sound with clarity.
I will keep QDC VX-S when I change DAP again as VX-S has the switches to adjust the sounds very effectively.
VX-S is expensive, but has the good cost performance because you can use this with any DAPs by changing the three mini switches per piece.
Thank you Andrew for your kind consideration !
I had VX for 3-day demo and thanks to Musicteck for their customer support. I'm really impressed by their dedication.
In short, VX is an all rounder IEM. This set can do anything from classical to EDM without being slouch. Let me start with signature; Anole VX is a neutral set with a bump of subbass and a quite thin lower mids. The bass on VX has an outstanding resolution. I can hear every single rumble decay clearly. Mids are crystal clear. I can hear every single thing in the track. The highs again are very pronounced and well extended, almost a surgical set since i can hear every single little thing in this region too.
There is no perfect iem, yes. Anole VX is not an exception. Bass is boosted so this is not for neutral head. You don't have an option to reduce the bass on the switch since the stock is already boosted. While the mids are crystal clear, there is almost no-emotion to the vocals. For anyone who wants to find a set that delivers vocals with emotion, this is not your set.
With more pros than cons, I would say Anole VX easily can be the top of the line iems competing big brands out there. I give this set 4.5 out of 5.
