Nadia, derived from the Hebrew name נָעמֳיִ†(Na'omi), meaning "pleasant," shares its name with the protagonist of the famous Japanese anime Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, reflecting the brand's spirit of exploration. Its design features the signature three-patterned aesthetics common in the C.F.S. series, adorned with the limited-edition Eilana's iridescent synthetic fiber threads. This clearly establishes Nadia's superior positioning as the next representative product ready to carry the legacy of the family forward!

In the past, Vortex commonly used a Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) structure in the C.F.S. series, typically employing the same materials in equal proportions for both positive and negative terminals. With Nadia, the design aims to integrate a wider range of material advantages by utilizing different materials and structural ratios for each polarity. This approach enhances the listening experience and spatial positioning, allowing for a more reasonable acoustic representation of each material's sound characteristics. We refer to this innovative technique as Shielded Twisted Pair Plus (STP+).

Japanese NUC "Air-Injection" Technology

In the world of HiFi cables, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is one of the top insulating materials due to its excellent dielectric constant, which reduces the impact of the insulation layer on high frequencies while achieving a tighter low frequency coherence. Vortex uses technique of "air-injection" to create the insulation layer's outer skin using polyethylene. As 25% of the insulating material is air, the insulation layer even has a lower dielectric constant than PTFE, further reducing the accumulation of microcharges in the insulation material and making the high-frequency signal more accurate.

Composite Insulation Damping

In addition to using air-injected polyethylene for the main insulation of the core and twisting the positive and negative poles, Vortex has also added a damping layer for the first time to counteract external vibrations and take the already quiet background to the next level. Internal damping has been widely used in HiFi applications due to its significant effects, but it is rarely seen in headphone cables due to limited wire diameter. Conductors already occupy a large percentage of the cross-sectional area, adding a damping layer significantly increases the difficulty of production and manufacturing.

Integrating Multiple Structural Elements

At the outset of the Nadia project, our goal was to combine all the technological advancements from the C.F.S. Seriesfamily. In addition to the new Shielded Twisted Pair Plus, we incorporated the Golden Ratio structure from both Lavinia and Eddie Squared on the positive terminal. This was achieved using a combination of materials, including gold-silver alloys, gold-plated OCC Silver, gold-plated OCC Copper, and OCC silver, with varying wire gauges and ratios to enhance the performance of the mid to high frequencies. For the negative terminal, we utilized the Multi Structure from Elsa and Seraphina, employing single-crystal copper and single-crystal silver to significantly improve low-frequency texture, depth, and transient response.

A Token of Appreciation

In today's market, there is a wide variety of cables available, and standing out from the crowd has become a challenge for Vortex. Vortex has devoted an entire year to improving every detail, from packaging to accessories. Throughout the entire project, careful consideration has been given to aspects such as the color of the stitching, the selection of high-quality cardboard for the outer box, genuine leather cable ties, storage pouches, and desk mats. Each of these elements has been meticulously chosen and provided to Vortex users with utmost care and effort. While cables may simply serve as conduits for sound, the accompanying accessories represent our heartfelt appreciation.
