About Brise Works
Brise Works is a new brand that builds on Brise Audio’s philosophy of high-quality sound design, aiming to achieve both high quality and prompt, stable supply.
Traditional Brise Audio products have been made to order by skilled craftsmen in our workshop in Gunma, Japan, with each piece handcrafted. While this allows for excellent sound quality control, it made the products less accessible in terms of delivery time and price.
At Brise Works, we addressed this situation by revising our design and manufacturing systems, introducing molding technology, and outsourcing assembly to external partners, thereby achieving mass production.
As a result, we are now able to deliver more products, more quickly, and at more affordable prices.
Opportunities for in-store listening have increased more than ever, making it possible to enjoy the experience of “listening on the spot and taking it home if you like it.”
We want to bring Brise Audio’s sound quality and design philosophy to more people — Brise Works is a brand created with that wish in mind.
Product Concept
MIKAGE is the first cable from Brise Works to directly take on the unprecedented challenge of combining high quality with a prompt delivery system.
At Brise Audio, we have achieved strict control over sound quality and product standards by having skilled craftsmen handcraft each cable one by one.
On the other hand, the time and cost required for manufacturing have been unavoidable challenges.
How can we deliver Brise Audio’s sound and philosophy to more people, more quickly, and more accessibly? One answer to that question is MIKAGE.
All aspects of the design were handled by the same team that has been responsible for Brise Audio’s product development to date.
By placing a CNT sheet inside the plug, we have incorporated the essence of Brise Audio’s original high quality sound processing, which uses multiple specialized materials.
Key materials such as high-purity, high-performance copper conductors and specially engineered high-performance resin have been carefully selected with the same attention to detail as Brise Audio.
By collaborating with highly precise external partners and using custom-molded terminals, we have established a system that reliably delivers Brise Audio’s signature refined sound—quickly, consistently, and at an affordable price.
Challenging the common belief that “good sound requires time and cost,” MIKAGE pioneers new value through the power of design. It is a new standard that embodies Brise Audio’s decade of experience and expertise.
FEATURES OF MIKAGE
| Commitment to Cable Structure and Materials | |

MIKAGE incorporates the full extent of Brise Audio’s accumulated expertise in wire material design. For the conductor, we use a twisted wire structure consisting of 49 strands per core (7×7 structure), with a total of 4 cores and 196 strands overall. This structure is ideal for transmitting high-quality audio signals, delicately rendering even the finest details and lingering reverberations of the sound. For the insulation material, we use the same high-performance resin proven in Brise Audio’s higher-end models such as AKAGANE and SHIROGANE, while refreshing the color scheme to highlight MIKAGE’s unique character. This enhances both the visual design and ease of identification. Furthermore, carbon nanotubes (CNT) are used as part of the high quality sound processing. By damping minute vibrations and optimizing electrical characteristics, it achieves a natural and transparent sound quality. While keeping the price reasonable, the wire material structure does not compromise on sound quality and fully retains the distinctive character of Brise Audio. |
| Original Connector Design That Supports Both Sound Quality and Aesthetics | |
|
The connector design of MIKAGE was also developed from scratch, aiming to meet multiple demands—sound quality, durability, and production efficiency—at a high level. The contact points are treated with highly reliable gold plating, ensuring a connection with minimal signal loss. The exterior features machined aluminum parts, eliminating any negative impact on sound quality while reinforcing MIKAGE’s refined aesthetic. Its most distinctive feature lies in the structure, which undergoes resin molding after soldering. This molded section not only enhances mechanical strength but also significantly reduces the risk of vibration-induced degradation and contributes to stable quality during manufacturing. The connector slider features a laser-engraved MIKAGE logo, clearly expressing the brand’s presence. For the amplifier-side connector, we use Brise Audio’s well-regarded L-shaped 4.4mm 5-pole plug, achieving both ease of handling and durability in portable setups. On the earphone side, both 2PIN and MMCX options are available, including compatibility with Sennheiser’s MMCX. We aimed for a finish that feels “just right” in every aspect—appearance, reliability, and compatibility. |

| A System That Enables Mass Production While Maintaining Quality | |

Brise Audio’s cables have consistently been handcrafted by skilled artisans, but this limited the number of units that could be produced and led to longer delivery times. To address this issue, MIKAGE fundamentally revised its manufacturing process and established a new system optimized for mass production. As before, all design work is carried out entirely in-house at Brise Audio, maintaining a structure that emphasizes precision and sound quality. Furthermore, manufacturing is carried out in collaboration with trusted factories both in Japan and overseas, while assembly is handled carefully and consistently by domestic partners. In the manufacturing process, we minimized the use of conventional heat-shrink tubing and introduced molding after soldering, successfully advancing automation and labor-saving while simultaneously improving consistency in quality and durability. As a result, we have established a system that allows us to deliver to more customers quickly, even in mass production, without compromising the sound quality and standards that define Brise. |
| A Functional Design Thoughtfully Refined Down to the Smallest Details | |
|
Brise Audio’s accumulated cable design philosophy is not solely focused on sound quality. The texture when held, ease of use in portable environments, and a presence that satisfies the sense of ownership are also important elements. While inheriting these Brise values, MIKAGE also proposes a new style. As with previous models, a 4-core star quad structure is used for the conductor configuration. The outer diameter was determined as an optimal balance between conductor volume, handling, and flexibility, with top priority given to the overall balance of usability and sound quality. In terms of appearance, a bronze-tone anodized finish was used for the connector housing—something not previously employed in our past products. This gives MIKAGE its unique sense of calm elegance and presence. In addition, the design of the L-shaped 4.4mm connector incorporates features aimed at achieving both ease of handling and durability. The cable extending sideways from the L-shaped plug is designed with optimal angles and dimensions to prevent it from sticking out too far from the connected player’s body. This helps reduce the risk of cable breakage due to movement during use, and prevents issues such as the cable getting caught or pinched in gaps. In addition, the clearance is carefully designed to account for the thickness of player cases, ensuring a secure connection without interference even when a case is attached. MIKAGE’s connector design reflects not only visual elegance, but also meticulous attention to detail for real-world usability. |
