The minute I opened the box to reveal my new HiBy RS8, I was impressed with the titanium construct. This device is substantial in many ways. It’s amazingly well built, feature rich and has a relatively snappy UI. The sound it produces is sweet, warm and addictive. I have acquired a few DAPs of late and the RS8 has a special place in my collection as it’s the only R2R DAP I own.
MusicTeck is easy to deal with, always responsive to my queries and speedy with getting my products out to me. Amazing people to deal with. I have purchased many products from them and they are my seller of first choice. I will always approach them first for the products they stock.
Best investment on a Dap I ever made. Still holds a preference for me 1yr later, over other latest Daps I've recently heard.
I tried LP P6, AK300, N8ii, and owned Sony WM1a, WM1z, iBasso dx300, dx320, 220Max, 3Max, 3MaxTi. To me, with the RS8, I finally reached a point that is undeniably in desktop level performance, and a sound that my ears telling me it eclipse all the others. No more chasing the next dap. Finally full satisfaction. I consider it a well spent investment.
There are some very nicely written online on Head-fi, but here is a subjective take. Only have maybe 15 hours of listening time and just found iem/cable combo I really like. A lot of burn-in to go ,but initially love the maturity of the player. Bass is much more defined, more present than other Hiby players. Takes some time to get software worked out as it is not the same as R8. Slowly getting a handle on software issues. Wish that Shuffle all button was repositioned farther from previous page icon, fat fingers always hit the yellow shuffle button, so I use a stylus pen instead. Just knew when rumours of release of RS8 that I wanted item and am very satisfied on purchase. Love large battery, will try M.2 soon on USB port. Am looking for conversion software to make DSD 1024 files. So, would I buy again...YES as service from Musicteck is Super Great and very happy to get in on the first batch sold. Alot still to learn but very satisfied with product. RS8 is not conducive for carting around as is heavy/large, so not for out and about, however RS6 works just fine. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Albeit it being a little large and chunky. It packs a punch and drives most headphones well too. This has the snappiest OS of all their devices and also best sound quality. I also enjoyed the RS6 but this is another step above!
A joy to use.
cayin n30le is a very good quality player, to use its potential you have to use it with high quality headphones, I use it with headphones unique Melody mest mk2 unique Melody mest mk3 unique Melody mentor multiverse unique Melody mason fs soleil unique Melody amber pearl that I have in all cases the sound was more than satisfactory
The best true wireless earbuds I ever have I own so many like Bose, Sony, B&O, Apple these was my favorite but nothing compares to FoKus the sound was very crystal clear and it just blows me away I love it
I am cursed with Audiophile ears (curse to my wallet), I have a desktop headphone setup that is immaculate and I have been on the quest to get a similar experience in an IEM. I have auditioned so many. These are expensive sets and I made a trip to the manufacturers to test them for myself as no amount of reviews and technical curves can tell what your ears will really like. I tested U12T, U18T, Trio from 64 Audio; Andromeda, Astrolith, and Alien Brain, then I put the Clara in my ears, first off… they fit like a glove to my ears (like a finely adjusted CIEM), then I ran my test tracks and I was grinning ear to ear, what a sound, so perfect to my ears, with the latest Campfire usb dac, paired with a Fiio LC cable. The included Streamline Duet cables are good but I felt the bass was too pronounced on it, I also tried with my Kinera Glepnir cable which did not do it for me (felt a bit vieled), the Fiio LC is the sweetspot for me on Clara. This IEM shines in every category, Bass, Mid, Silky smooth treble, air, stage and texture. And all this is straight with an Iphone and the included USB C dac. When I put this thru my desktop dac (Chord Hugo 2), the music transforms to stratosphere, these IEMs can scale to the best equipment and sound super spectacular. My ears never preferred a straight BA setup or only a DD setup in IEMs for me the hybrid is the sweet spot. I tried the Mest MKII and Thieaudio Monarch tribrids and they were not for me. So in short your ears have to listen to an IEM if you really like them for the value they provide for the 2K price tag. Till then all these are personal impressions and comments.
Now I have to take a bow to the amazing team at MusicTeck, Angel and Andrew are the best in business, I called them at 5PM almost closing time and Angel confirmed he has the unit in stock, and he had UPS pick it up the same day so I could get the IEMs ASAP. The product was delivered in excellent packaging with foam inserts and the box was shrink wrapped as shipped by CampfireAudio. I am a customer for life for all my audio needs with MusicTeck. Thanks to this amazing team who understand the passion of an Audiophile and truly believe in serving the community.
Thieaudio Valhalla Review: The Pinnacle of the House Sound
As a longtime fan of the Thieaudio house sound, I went into the Valhalla with high expectations—but also a bit of hesitation. I had never ventured into their all-BA setups before (never tried the V16), sticking mainly to their hybrids. But the Valhalla? It absolutely floored me.
Simply put: Wow. This IEM doesn’t just meet expectations—it redefines them.
Every metric—tonality, resolution, technical performance, staging, imaging—hits a perfect 10. It somehow manages to deliver all the richness and musicality Thieaudio is known for, but with a level of refinement, detail retrieval, and cohesion that genuinely feels like the culmination of everything they’ve built before. The tuning is masterful, with a clean yet engaging signature that feels both reference-grade and emotionally satisfying.
And for the price? The Valhalla punches far above its weight. In a world where kilobuck IEMs are common, this one holds its ground confidently—competing directly with models that cost significantly more.
If you’re a fan of the Thieaudio sound, this is the endgame.
