Great 'does-it-all' digital audio player

Musicteck has always been a pleasure to work with. Selection, prices, service, and shipping are all great. I was on the fence, but opted to get a portable unit for lack of distractions the phone or computer+ DAC setups bring, and the portability a DAP offers. The Shanling M7 is one of the best values out there. It is quick and responsive, offers loads of gain - enough for Beyerdynamic DT1990 over-ears - and a quiet enough floor for the most sensitive IEMs. It sounds great whether though 4.4mm or 3.5mm. While chunky, the unit is certainly very portable and convenient. WiFi works great for streaming and for downloading songs for offline mode. Integrated audio controls are sensible and convenient. And Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 works well and speedily. Sound quality matches the what a portable DAC at the same price would offer. Overall I am very pleased and think this is one of the top offerings anywhere near this price bracket.

Shanling knocks it out of the park…

Coming off the back of a number of recent acquisitions including the LPGT, iBasso DX300, DX240 and Fiio M17, I can say with some authority that the Shanling M7 is the perfect package of sound, form factor, build quality and useability. It’s not far off the M9 in terms of sound reproduction and the early issues I had with that unit have now been resolved. This really is a cracking little DAP. It runs a little warm but it’s not noticeable once in the leather case. Definitely a long term keeper. As always Andrew’s customer support was the best in the business!!
